Some of Mom and Dad's visit and the rest of December

December was a very busy and fun month for us.  Mom and Dad were here for a few weeks into this month and of course we had the holiday parties and End of Year parties etc.  Here are a few photos of the various events.

Grandpa bought all the girls Christmas gifts this year himself and they got to open them before Christmas Eve.

Can we play, can we play please, can we play now, when can we play, can we play, can we play now?
The following photos are from the night we went to out to dinner for Mom's birthday.

Here are some pictures I thought were cute.

I know her rubber bands don't match...I did not do this.

Emma eating a smore...sort of.  We couldn't find graham crackers so we used digestive biscuits, and then used Nutella for the chocolate (a chocolate spread) and a marshmallow.  It was tasty!

The girls were in a Christmas pageant at church.  Emma was an angel, Mattie was the Angel Gabriel and Phoebe and Greta were lambs.  We had their costumes made and dad noticed that the tails for the "lambs" were a little long, so maybe they were cows.  Or maybe they were a lamb/cow cross.  All I can say is they were super cute.

After a lovely Christmas (albeit we were very homesick one) we decided to head to Kampot to the river for a small vacation and to get out of the city for a few days.  It was a very relaxing few days and gave us a much needed rest.

We decided to take a drive one day up a mountain to see Bokor Hill Station and Palace and a cool waterfall.  We didn't travel far enough to see the real Palace and Station and we didn't go to the correct waterfall.  We did come to some buildings that we thought were right but weren't and we did follow a sign that said waterfall but wasn't.  Still had a good day.

Really???  A waterfall????

We thought this window looked like a picture frame.

After our mountain excursion we headed back to the hotel.  Here are some photos of the fantastic New Year's Eve party.

Shawn had to blow up this balloon and then Mattie and another little boy had to pop it between their backs.  We won the first round and would have won the second but Shawn couldn't get the thing tied!

There was a really fun musical chairs game.  When the music stopped you had to run and get whatever the leader said and get back to a chair...a shoe, a can, glasses, a hat, one time a fork (not such a good idea) but here, Mattie didn't make it back to the chairs in time.  When this happened the leader made you do something silly.

Emma was already out but she did the silly thing with Mattie anyway.  They had to walk like a chicken.  You can see the differences in personality here.  Mattie was embarrassed -  but did it anyway.  Emma was a complete ham and not embarrassed at all!  Can we just say Jenny and Shawn?!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There it is, we're done with 2010.  It was a great year with many changes and happenings both good and bad.  We're all healthy and happy and we feel truly blessed.  Have a wonderful 2011 everyone, and our door is always open.  LET THIS BE THE YEAR YOU TRAVEL TO CAMBODIA!!!!

  1. I always thought Jenny was the ham. Shawn seems so quiet and reserved.
